Day 8: Information and Knowledge

How does information become knowledge?

Information becomes knowledge when one puts it into context. Every application of information should be ethical; otherwise, the very purpose of knowledge is defeated. (Yuda, 2017)

The Information Literate Individual

An information literate individual is one who is able to use information as a precursor to valuable knowledge. By being literate in handling and disseminating veritable information, the individual becomes a catalyst for societal change and social progress. Moreover, the literate individual knows and understands that information has no limits, but the scope of how one can use information has its limits (that is in the bounds of morals and ethics).
