What is language? According to Oxford Dictionary (2017), language is: the method of human communication, either spoken or written, consisting of the use of words in a structured and conventional way. How is media language being configured? Media language is configured, restructured both by personal and societal efforts. On the micro-scale, we alter the language we use simply by adapting or evolving. These changes accumulate to form a collective language reconfiguration. It is then language becomes restructured by a societal effort. Who are consumers and producers of media? Who isn't a consumer and producer of media these days? Government Scenario A local government official was charged of graft and corruption and was suspended from his office. Day 11: Symbols

"Language is a source of misunderstanding." McLuhan, 1964 We bridge gaps with the communicative ability of language; however, there are times when language becomes an impediment to our connectivity, when the words, the signs and the symbols we use bring us further apart. Take for an example the case of language barriers. The difference in the words used results in misinterpretation. Here, we do not rely on language. Rather, we communicate through shared culture. Does the user’s/audience’s own background or experience affect the interpretation of messages? How?  I believe that we take everything in subjectively; there is no 100% objective view on things. We make interpretations based on the breadth of our knowledge, our capacity, and culture. Is it possible that a different individual derives a different meaning from the message? Explain.
